With well over 2 million Facebook users in Ireland alone most salon owners either already use Facebook or have Facebook on their “to do” list. We work largely with hair and beauty salons and Facebook is an obvious low-cost vehicle for promotions.
However some salons make an easy mistake. They forget that Facebook is like one bit social event and become dismayed when they get little or no business from their monthly promotion. If you think about it that’s a bit like being at a party and every so often someone interrupts your conversation with their hand up trying to sell you something – how annoying would that be!
If done well your facebook salon page should give you your unique voice; let you reach your target customers with a message they want to hear and then inspire them to visit your hair and beauty salon x number of times per year.
You need to find the right rythmn for your business. Decide on how many times you should be posting in a month, how many of those should be educational posts of interest and how many should be salon offers. You should timetable in your Facebook admin time just like every other salon task.
Some salons have amazing results from Facebook however this is only after a structured and planned approach to Facebook.
